What my days and nights look like
On the other hand, despite my whining about being kept up at night by the alarms, the Gov'ner does have a remarkable benefit. About once a day I upload data from the sensor (through the pump, through the carelink meter) to the website, where we can look at it. The sensor gives a reading every five minutes throughout the day (when it's working) and with this my doctor and I can see way more of what's going on than with the usual 5 - 10 fingersticks a day. We're already working to reshape the bolus for breakfast.
Worth a grand? You betcha. I'm still hoping my insurance will cover it, but I'm doing my best to pay for it myself in the meantime.
